Antelope Canyon is a splendid natural scene with a slight sense of femininity. The natural enclosed shape of its geographic feature is just like a secret space with a vivid color scheme waiting to surprise its visitors.
The concept is to mimic the scene of Antelope Canyon and use it to express the femininity of the space. Cooperating with the narrow shape of the original plan, the feature ceiling divides the space into two parts which create a rather private space for women to enjoy the time period of becoming prettier.
1 WAITING AREA
5 LASH CARE AREA
This is a beauty salon customizing three beauty categories, including manicures, pedicures and eyelash extensions, for urban woman. Cooperating with the serviced apartment SGA (in-progress conceptual project exclusively designed for professional women; please see project SGA), the project expects to provide a secret and relaxed place for working women to recharge themselves.
To mimic the sense of Antelope Canyon, reflective colored glass and plastic layering cooperate with plaster walls as the dominant materials in the space. Layering different colored glass can create various reflections through lighting behind it. Rough earthy-toned plaster walls mimic the texture of canyon rock. Clay-made lighting fixtures help to echo the theme of the space.
